In my lifetime I have probably heard at least a gazillion post-game interviews with pitchers. Every guy says the exact same thing every time. I’m beginning to suspect that MLB has some sort of brainwashing program.

Pitcher – (in a mind-numbing monotone) I just tried to stick to the game plan. Keep the ball down. Work both sides of the plate. Change speeds. Get ground balls. Give my team a chance to win. Try to get the W.

Wow that was so insightful. Thank you for that little gem. Here’s what pitchers would say if they were musicians.

Musician – I just tried to stick to the set list. Remember all the words. Play the right notes. Sing in tune. Try not to fall off the stage. Move around a little.

Riveting!
