Country Gentleman
Tomorrow night I’m heading back to the studio to start tracking my own parts. I’m nervous. I’ve never been so prepared to record an album and I’ve never felt so unprepared to record an album.
I walked down to my Uncle Keith’s house (he just lives a few doors down) to pick up his vintage Country Gentleman about an hour ago. He was very, very kind to allow me to borrow it for the next couple of recording sessions. I’m wanting to use it on a song called The Temptress but hopefully I’ll be able to squeeze it in as many songs as I can. Please pray for me that I don’t somehow screw up this guitar.
Dude – I am insanely jealous. The Country Gentleman is my holy grail of guitars, mainly because of the tone that Acetone’s Mark Lightcap coaxed out of his vintage Gretsch. Of course George Harrison had one, and so did the Monkees …
Yeah man I know I’m extremely fortunate to have access to one of the true gems of the guitar world. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.
