Bad News
My dead PC has been ignored for almost five weeks now due to lack of money to repair it. I started working on it yesterday and things look bad. I’m in too lousy of a mood to go into it right now but almost 2/3 of my audio files appear to be gone: all of my solo album stuff, almost all of my demos, the entire Formula Kid album, and so on. This makes me extremely sad.
Pray please.

That sucks! I’m not sure if there is much I can do to help, but I am still willing to give any help I can.
Maybe not just for this computer, but perhaps building a more error resistant machine next time. Perhaps with a RAID hard drive configuration for redundancy? Assuming it was the hard drive that blew chunks in this latest quagmire…

Pull the hard drive out of that sucka and send it to a data recovery specialist. A few years ago our office manager’s computer crashed here at work. You could barely even start the computer. We pulled the hard drive out and looked at it. There were portions of the hard drive that had metal flakes falling off the disc it was in such bad shape. We sent it to one of the best data recovery companies in the world in Australia. They did whatever they do best, and copied all the files to a new hard drive and sent it back to us. There were only 7 files that we couldn’t open on the whole drive. It cost a pretty penny but obviously this stuff it pretty important to you. I’d at least look into it.
