I Want To Know Christ – Demo Sample
Here’s a short clip of my newest gospel/worship tune “I Want To Know Christ”. The lyrics are taken from Philippians 3:10, 11 where the apostle Paul says:
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to resurrection from the dead. (NIV)
My Pastor has said that this is one of his favorite passages of the Bible. He’s also said that black gospel (choir included) is one of his favorite styles of worship music. So I did what any kiss-up would do and wrote a song using those two elements.
Some of my demos sound good enough to pass for the finished product, this is not one of them. There are still many elements (horns, organ, piano) to be added but I thought I’d just go ahead and post what I’ve got so far. Promise you won’t laugh.
Awsome but I want the rest…. NOW……
Very, very cool! I know you said you were shooting for a gospel vibe but I get a strong Bob Marley vibe from that (minus the ganja…)
Guy like! Gimme more!
Thanks fellas. I’m still working on hammering out the rest.
Love it!
Wanted to share a story with you that Rich uses as a sermon illustration. Alisa, at age 5 creates her own stories and they tend to be something like, “I love my daddy, he’s the greatest…” She’s not the best vocalist and her lyrics don’t amount to a great deal, but it means a lot to her Dad. Obviously, our heavenly father appreciates all that we offer him more than we can imagine.
I’m just thankful that those who sing in public – you – have more talent than that.
Thanks Laura. I’m going to try and post some more of the song tomorrow.
